Chinese manufacturers such as Unitree have made humanoid robots affordable for the first time; entry-level models now start in the four-figure range.
In 2026 they can be bought off the shelf, from compact all-rounders to full-size models.
They are already at work in logistics, on reception, on inspection duties and in the first domestic pilot projects.

Under Section 8(8) of the German Social Code Book XI (SGB XI), care facilities can receive a one-off grant of up to EUR 12,000 towards digital and technical equipment; the statutory long-term care insurance fund covers 40 % of the acquisition cost.
